In 2020, she was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship for the MAMBO project, focused on the development of magnetic microrobots for vascular applications. In 2024, she received an ERC Starting Grant for the project I-BOT, dedicated to the development of the first generation of implantable microrobots.
In addition to her scientific work, Veronica Iacovacci is committed to promoting STEM disciplines among the younger generation. She coordinates the strategic project “STEM: Girls Get Involved!”, a free residential course for fourth-year high school girls, with the aim of supporting access to scientific careers for girls from non-academic backgrounds.
The recognition by Fortune Italia highlights the value of Professor Iacovacci's scientific and educational career, in line with the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies' commitment to promoting excellence in research, innovation, and the social impact of science.
